What Candy Shorts really cost you

Two layers: free, then paid

Every series on Candy Shorts is split in two. The first layer is free: each of the 167 series opens with free episodes, 335 of them across the catalogue on October 20, 2026. You can watch these without spending anything, and they are usually enough to tell whether a story is for you.

The second layer is paid. Once the free episodes run out, each further episode costs tokens. You get tokens in one of two ways: through a subscription on Candy.ai, or by topping up when you need more.

The subscription plans, as listed on our data date, are in the table below. The longer you commit, the lower the monthly price. Notice how the 1-month plan starts at one price and renews at a higher one: that detail is easy to miss, so read it twice.

Tokens per episode: 12 to 50

Not every paid episode costs the same. Across the catalogue, a single paid episode costs between 12 and 50 tokens, and the price is set per series. Within one series, every paid episode costs the same amount, which makes the maths simple.

What drives the price? From what we see in the catalogue, the series starring licensed digital twins of real performers tend to charge more per episode, and long, ambitious productions sit higher too. Plenty of shorter stories with the platform's own AI characters sit at the low end.

The table below shows the per-episode price range next to some typical full-run costs, so you can see how quickly the gap between a cheap series and an expensive one grows.

Working out the full-run cost

The number that really matters is the full-run cost: the tokens you need to unlock every paid episode of a series. The formula is simple:

• Take the number of episodes.
• Subtract the free ones.
• Multiply by the tokens per episode.

A 5-episode series with 2 free episodes and 12 tokens per episode costs 36 tokens to finish. The same length at 30 tokens per episode costs 90, and at 50 tokens it costs 150. A 10-episode series with 2 free and 30 tokens per episode comes to 240.

Cheapest and priciest series

At the cheap end, a large group of 5-episode series costs 36 tokens to finish. That includes The Gods Gave Me My Father's Wife, His Wife, His Rules and My Goth Stepsister. For the price of a few paid episodes elsewhere, you get a complete story.

In the middle sit series around 90 to 240 tokens, such as Nerdy Stepdaughter at 90, My Girlfriend's Step-Aunt Is Asa Akira at 150 and Accident with my Stepmom at 240.

At the top end, Blackout At My Yacht Party asks 400 tokens for its paid episodes. It is a Riley Reid twin series with 10 episodes at the maximum per-episode price. We would only recommend it to genuine fans.

Subscription or tokens?

It depends on how you watch. If you plan to come back regularly, finish several series a month and maybe chat with characters on Candy.ai too, a subscription makes sense, and the 12-month plan at $3.99 a month ($47.88 billed yearly) is by far the lowest monthly price on the table.

If you only want to finish one or two series, committing to a year is overkill. The 1-week plan at $5.60 or the 2-week plan at $9.79 lets you try the paid side without a long contract. Just remember to cancel before it renews if you do not want to continue.

The 1-month plan is the one to watch carefully: $9.99 for the first month, then $13.99. If you keep it, the 3-month plan at $8.99 a month works out cheaper per month.

One caution: our data covers plan prices, not exactly how many tokens each plan includes. Check that on the checkout screen before you pay, because that is what decides how many series you can actually finish.

Coupon codes: the honest answer

Discount codes come up all the time, so here it is plainly: we know of no official Candy Shorts coupon codes, and we will not invent any. A code that looks too good to be true usually is.

The real savings are less exciting but they work. Watch every free episode before you pay. Pick series with a low full-run cost. Choose a longer plan only if you know you will use it. And when the platform itself runs a promotion, it will show the offer on its own checkout page, not through a code you found somewhere.

Our advice before you spend

Start free, and stay free until a series genuinely makes you want episode 3. Then check its full-run cost in the episode guide and compare it with the alternatives in the same genre. A 36-token story you enjoy beats a 400-token spectacle you watch half of.
